Christian Ilic started off his youth career at Austrian St. Lambrecht. He was also part of Judenburg, FC Murau, SC Weiz II and TSV Hartberg. 

Before joining PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv in August 2020 he played at FC Motherwell in the Scottish league.
